For another year running, the Miami Platja Wine Fair is back for lovers of wine and good food. The Miami Platja Wine Fair in Tarragona welcomes hundreds of tourists and locals every year on a weekend packed with non-stop activities.
This is one of the town’s most popular events, making it a great time to come with family or friends to enjoy yourself as you sample the region’s best delicacies.
The 2024 Miami Platja Wine Fair will be held on the weekend of 6–7 April. This year, it falls on the weekend after Easter.
Just like every year, the fair will be held in Plaza Girona in Miami Platja, one of the area’s main meeting points – just a stone’s throw from the stunning coves. It offers activities for all ages, from food-tasting stalls, wine tastings and musical performances to bouncing castles and kids’ workshops for the little ones.
The fair’s gastronomic offer
The Miami Platja Wine Fair has an extensive selection of wines, from the freshest whites and rosés to the most powerful reds. The wines are sourced from wineries all over Catalonia and represent the region’s various Designations of Origin.
Visitors can sample wines from the different wineries in the tasting area. A tasting pack can be purchased, including five tastings, a glass and a glass holder. You can also find packs of two tastings, that come with a glass and a glass holder, or a glass and glass holder separately.
In the gastronomic area, visitors can enjoy a wide range of traditional Catalan dishes such as paella, fideuá and tapas. You’ll also be able to purchase regional gastronomic products, such as sausages and cheeses, among others.
As well as wine and gastronomy, the Miami Platja Wine Fair also features a host of other wine-related products, such as books, magazines and other accessories to round off your experience at the fair.
History and Tradition: Miami Platja Wine Fair
The Miami Platja Wine Fair has made a name for itself since the first edition held in 2015, becoming one of the region’s leading annual events. This amazing fair is organised by the Miami Platja Town Council, with support from the Tarragona Provincial Council and the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.
Last year, the fair enjoyed the enthusiastic participation of 15 renowned wineries, representing 8 Catalan Designations of Origin. This wine fair gave visitors a crash course on Catalonia’s rich wine culture, exploring everything from fresh whites to robust reds, a diverse sample that reflects the vastness and quality of Catalan wines.
The Miami Platja Wine Fair isn’t just about tasting exquisite wines; you’ll also get the chance to discover some authentic Catalan gems, represented by the passion and dedication of the participating wineries.
