The Seafront Promenade of Miami Playa (‘Paseo Marítimo’ in Spanish) is one of those places that will surprise you with its authenticity. Extreme tourism hasn’t reached here yet, and that’s evident in its essence, its tranquil beaches and an environment that remains purely Mediterranean.

With impressive sea views, a pleasant sea breeze throughout the year and a relaxed atmosphere, this promenade is the ideal place for walking, playing sport or simply sitting back and contemplating the horizon. Additionally, its cultural and gastronomic offerings will not disappoint.

If you’re looking for a place to disconnect, enjoy a good meal with views and take advantage of outdoor activities, keep reading because this promenade has much to offer you.

This promenade is perfect if you enjoy walking alongside the sea, cycling, roller-skating or going for a run. It features well-marked lanes, the terrain is completely flat and, best of all, the sea will be at your side throughout the entire route.

The sunrises and sunsets here are a genuine marvel. The sunlight reflects on the water and transforms the landscape into a picture-perfect postcard.

Along the route, you’ll also find well-placed viewpoints from which you can admire some of the most beloved coves in the area, such as Cala del Solitari and Cala de las Sirenas, perfect for a quick swim.

And if you’re into yoga or Pilates, open-air sessions are organised on the sand, a perfect plan to disconnect and reconnect with the sea. And if you’re someone who can never resist a street market, in summer, craft stalls appear with clothing, accessories and souvenirs. So, along with your photos, you can take home a memento of Miami Playa.

Fancy something aquatic to make the most of the beach? You can hire a kayak, a paddle board or, if you’re feeling adventurous, a jet ski to explore all the nooks and crannies of the coast. If you prefer something that involves less physical effort, there are also boat trips and excursions with stops for snorkelling.

And if you’re coming on a family holiday, you should know that there are also children’s parks and recreational areas along the Seafront Promenade of Miami Playa. Oh! And during the summer, you’ll also come across loads of activities such as open-air cinema, beach shows and live concerts.

Restaurants and bars for a break

There’s no better way to enjoy a full day at the Seafront Promenade of Miami Playa than with a good meal with sea views. Here, there’s a great variety of restaurants and chiringuitos (beach bars) where you can try rice dishes, fresh seafood and typical Mediterranean tapas. However, if you don’t want to be left without a table, you’d better book in advance because during high season they tend to get very busy.

If you fancy a good paella or fideuà, there are restaurants specialising in seafood cuisine. There are also options if you like international food, with Italian or French restaurants and, of course, tapas bars where you can try everything from gambas al ajillo (prawns in garlic oil) to patatas bravas con alioli (roast potatoes with garlic sauce).

And if after eating you fancy a cocktail at a beach bar, the promenade has perfect options for enjoying a drink with sea views and a totally chilled-out atmosphere. So you can get straight to it, here are some recommendations!

Casa Xabi is a safe bet if you want a fideuà, black rice or grilled fish, accompanied by homemade croquettes that are not to be missed. If you’re looking for an incredible paella, La Tasca d’en Joan is another top option, where you can also enjoy fresh seafood and typical Catalan dishes.

Plats & Co is ideal if what you fancy is a good hamburger, croquettes or a hot dog with sea views. And if you love Italian food, you have to try something from Buba’s, a place where the pizzas, pasta and tiramisu take you directly to Italy.

If you prefer a good seafood stew, Sol y Mar is the place where you’ll find the best calderetas (traditional stews), mixed plates and tapas. Whatever your choice, eating at the Seafront Promenade of Miami Playa is always a pleasure.
